Black Male Mental Health (BMMH) is a nonprofit at the forefront of spearheading a cultural paradigm shift, raising awareness on the importance of mental health in Black men.
We offer group sessions, access to teletherapy, mental health coaching, peer support groups, guided programs, host events and most importantly, connect people to resources. Our goal is to help with the prevention, diagnosing, treatment, and upliftment of the overall mental health of men of color.
We curate digital spaces for collective healing within our community through virtual groups. Our goal is to increase the emotional intelligence in men by encouraging vulnerability and open-mindedness as we examine concepts of masculinity within the safety of our own cultural boundaries.
While systemic racism exacerbates a culture of mistrust that is deepening the disparities in healthcare equity, BMMH highlights the importance of prioritizing your mental health while working to eliminate barriers to access support. Research shows that people prefer same sex, same gender medical professionals. Our efforts to aggregate Black male wellness practitioners are directly correlated to the resounding uptick in requests from our followers to assist with finding therapists.
We listened. We scanned the nation, aggregating the most comprehensive listing of Black male therapists and wellness professionals into a unique directory. We’ve created a one of a kind database, exclusively of and for BIPOC men.
